The RDA has ordered the consultants to do the preliminary surveys and research in the tehsils of Gujjar Khan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahota of the Rawalpindi district. It was agreed that after the master plan was completed, it would be presented to the RDA’s governing body for final approval. According to a statement issued by the authority, the initiative was undertaken to streamline development projects in the division and to regularise land-related concerns within RDA jurisdiction. The project’s consultant also informed RDA executives of the project’s progress and completion timetable. According to the spokesperson, the DG directed that additional work be done on the master plan and that more discussions be held on this plan.

It is worth noting that the Punjab administration earlier divided Rawalpindi and separated Murree from its jurisdiction. The city is one of the largest in the province and is divided into several small districts. The government has started master plan projects in all of Punjab’s main cities to better manage resources and limit uncontrolled growth.
