Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has arranged a seminar to address the stakeholders, including the representatives of trade unions, members of the armed forces, lawmakers, and officials representing the government departments concerned, of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project regarding the initiative’s latest developments on June 4, 4 pm, at the Rawalpindi Gymkhana.

As per details, the civic agency has already dispatched the invitations to the attendees concerned. The meeting agenda includes detailed briefing on setting up industrial zones, wholesale markets, bus terminals, economic zones, satellite towns, hospitals, and fruits and vegetable markets. Moreover, the participants will be encouraged to share their feedback on the projects and the amenities planned along the route. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Termed as a ‘game changer’ project for Rawalpindi, the Ring Road project is expected to be completed within 1.5 years instead of the original two-year time frame. Speaking to media, RDA Chairman Tariq Murtaza said that the ring road would become a new economic hub for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which will see addition of several international-standard economic facilities. He also mentioned that 6,000 acres of land along the RRR route has been allocated for the construction of residential developments.

According to reports, the initial process to initiate development work at the project site will be expedited from July 1 onwards. As per the work plan, the land acquisition process will start from July 1 and be completed by October 31.
