Islamabad: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Tuesday revealed its budget with an outlay of PKR 2,379 million for the financial year 2021-22, according to news sources.

Under the chairmanship of RDA Director General (DG) Nadeem Abro, a meeting was held with the Finance Sub-Committee, which included the Finance, Planning & Development (P&D), Housing Urban Development (HUD), and Public Health Engineering (PHE) Departments.
RDA Director Finance & Administration Asif Mahmood Janjua, RDA Deputy Director Finance Muhammad Junaid Taj Bhatti, and officials from the HUD & PHE, P&D, and Finance departments attended the meeting.
According to reports, a large portion of the RDA budget, worth PKR 1,984 million, was set aside for new and ongoing development projects.
- The ongoing schemes included:
- PKR 50 million was reserved for widening and improvement of Dry Port Road from Rahimabad Flyover at Airport Road to Welfare Complex via Chakala Railway Station and Shell Depot.
- PKR 69 million will be used for the construction of three pedestrian bridges at Airport Road.
Other development projects mentioned in the budget are as follows:
- PKR 300 million has been set aside for the rehabilitation of Kutchery Chowk.
- PKR 300 million is set aside for remodelling of Defence Chowk.
- PKR 20 million will be used for creating a Project Management Unit (PMU) for the construction of the Lai Expressway.

Funds have been provided for land acquisition for the building of the Lai Expressway and flood channel projects under the new development scheme of the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
