Rawalpindi: An expensive piece of land in the Saddar area has become a bone of contention between Bahria Town and Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), a news source has reported.
The issue came to light when the civic authority started building a metro bus station on the disputed land, which measures 2,069.43 square metres.
The news source added that the plot was initially owned by the Revenue Employees Cooperative Housing Society (RECHS). However, in 2004, Bahria Town Founder Mr Malik Riaz planned to merge Bahria Town with RECHS, and the land in question was proposed to be a part of Bahria Town.
Now Bahria Town claims ownership of the multi-billion-rupee plot, and the RDA intends to build the metro bus station on it.
