Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Wednesday held an auction of motor vehicle and motorcycle parking stands in Raja Bazaar — with the event held on the directives of Director General RDA Ammara Khan, according to news sources.

An RDA spokesperson revealed that the auction of parking stands was chaired by Director Admin & Finance Khalid Javed Goraya. He added that the auction began at 11:30 am and was closed two hours later — with an as many as 19 bidders participating in the event. The proceedings were initiated against the development reserve of PKR 13.21 million, and the bidding of these parking stands in Raja Bazaar closed at PKR 33.1 million.

Meanwhile, the civic authority also launched its first kitchen gardening project with assistance from a Turkish welfare firm. Under the initial phase of this initiative, the steel-framed kitchen gardening racks were distributed to 50 households of Mohalla Waris Khan in Rawalpindi.
