Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has approved to begin the process of hiring a consultant to prepare the city’s master plan for the next 20 years, a news source reported. The civic body also approved the construction of RDA Complex and two multi-storey commercial buildings.

RDA gave these approvals during its 44th authority meeting, presided over by RDA Chairman Arif Ali Abbasi, held yesterday. RDA Director General (DG) Nadeem Ahmed Abro, along with other officials concerned, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, RDA approved the assignment of commercial status to 16 roads in the city. Additionally, the meeting decided that no multi-storey building plans would be approved in the future without payment of PKR 150,000 per kanal for sewerage infrastructure.
In further approvals, RDA has decided to revise the water supply and sewerage tariffs of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) according to cantonment tariffs. The meeting also approved the budgets pertaining to WASA for the ongoing fiscal year.

Additionally, the meeting finalised that obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from RDA would be necessary for acquiring mortgage loans on properties in private housing societies.
