Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Nadeem Rauf on Thursday (November 18) briefed Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ali that industrial and economic zones must be established along the Rawalpindi Ring Road, according to news sources.

As per the details, the demand was made by the business community that industrial zones should be set up where the bus terminals and wholesale markets were to be shifted. During the meeting, the RCCI president stated that if the industrial and economic zones will not be developed along the Rawalpindi Ring Road, then it would just be a road. Establishing industrial and economic zones will flourish the local industry.
Reportedly, the president mentioned that shifting bus terminals and wholesale markets outside the city will reduce the traffic flow in the city. In the meeting, a suggestion to set up an expo centre was also discussed.

Moreover, the meeting also discussed the construction of new parking plazas, construction of Rawat Industrial Estate link road, widening of Kutcheri Chowk, and removal of encroachments. The deputy commissioner visited the chamber to discuss the problems faced by the business community. He suggested the chamber should appoint a representative to oversee the progress of the Ring Road project.
