Rawalpindi: In a bid to facilitate owners of 1-marla to 40-marla residential units, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) reduced water tariffs by 10 to 33 percent.
According to a news source, the charges were slashed due to continuous pressure exerted by elected representatives of the area.
The new charges are as follows: 1 to 5-marla homes now have to pay PKR 225 (down from PKR 225), 6 to 7-marla homes to pay PKR 400 (down from PKR 600), 8 to 10-marla homes to pay PKR 500 (down from 700), 11 to 14-marla homes to pay PKR 650 (down from 850), 15 to 20-marla homes to pay PKR 800 (down from PKR 1,000), and 21 to 39-marla homes to pay PKR 1,000 (down from 1,200). Lastly, 40-marla houses will now pay PKR 1,200 compared to a previous PKR 1,400.
