Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has shared the details on its amnesty scheme announced for expediting building plan approvals, a news source reported on Tuesday (September 8). The board had announced offering this provision back in July; with it being geared to allow homeowners of the city’s cantonment area to have their layout plans approved within three days – and without the payment of any fines.

According to the details, a total number of 70,000 residential units in the cantonment area were paying taxes, but only 40,000 had approved layouts. The remaining 30,000 have been provided the opportunity to have their layouts approved after payment of a token fine of PKR 100 – instead of the usual fine ranging between PKR 100,000 and PKR 150,000. The authority is also offering to provide approvals for building plan within 3 days at a cost of PKR 2,500.
