Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has asked developers of high-rise buildings to submit all relevant safety documents, reported a news source. The step has been taken to ensure safety of these buildings being constructed in RCB-controlled areas.

Letters in this regard are also being issued to the developers. The submission of safety documents is mandatory for buildings having ground plus three or more storeys. The developers of these buildings have to submit documents relating to emergency exit and firefighting system. The required documents also include:
- Fire Safety Clearance Certificate issued by Rescue 1122
- Fitness certificate given by structural engineer,
- SOP Compliance Certificate for electric & plumbing system
- Completion Certificate as per the approved building plan

The developers who will fail to provide the abovementioned documents will be stopped from carrying out construction work. As for the buildings against which the required documents have been submitted, RCB will carry out site inspection to verify the measures planned for ensuring building safety.
