Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board’s (RCB) crackdown against defaulters of water bills recovered PKR 2.8 million, a news source reported. As per the publication, the civic body also severed 67 illegal water connections and resolved a number of complaints related to sanitation, water and electricity.

RCB Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Sibtain Raza directed the board to initiate the said campaign against outstanding water bills and illegal water connections. The water branch of the board conducted its crackdowns in Naseerabad, Westridge, Bakra Mandi and other areas.

RCB Spokesperson Qaiser Mahmood highlighted that the services were rendered better to facilitate the consumers – and for that purpose, computerised bills are being distributed to the customers, he added.

He revealed that the RCB public facilitation centre received 209 complaints regarding sanitation, water supply and electricity – 83 out of them have been resolved. Six complaints regarding water supply were also dealt with urgently. The CEO has issued orders to the board and facilitation centre to resolve the public’s issues on an urgent basis, he concluded.
