The saplings planted in Rawalpindi Cantonment included a wide range of species. An RCB spokesperson revealed that the board had planted bougainvillea, alstonia, lemon, guava, pine, cestrum (raat ki rani), chinar, kinnow, and amaltas. He added that the RCB planted several other popular species of ornamental plants along roadsides and around houses and offices.
RCB carried out the spring plantation drive in a bid to beautify the city’s different areas and promote a healthier and sustainable environment. The board carried out the drive across the city – covering greenbelts, schools, parks, intersections, graveyards, and other public areas.
