According to the details, buildings have been rented out at high rents in the cantonment area but commensurate taxes are not being paid for these properties. 5-marla buildings, which are exempt from taxation and have a low amount of PKR 3,000 in water and sanitation charges, have been rented out for commercial purposes – which makes their annual tax around PKR 10,000—15,000. The practice is causing a loss of millions of rupees to the RCB.
