Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has notified the owners of 115 illegally constructed buildings regarding its impending demolition operation, a news source reported. As per officials, these notices were recently dispatched to these individuals.

According to reports, these illegal buildings were identified by the RCB Building Control Branch’s field staff. This information was presented before the RCB President Brig Shehzad Tanveer in the board’s monthly meeting. The meeting members were also introduced to the next RCB Chairman Brig Ijaz Kiyani.

In terms of dealing with illegal construction activities in the cantonment area, the RCB recently formed a 20-member demolition squad. The squad is assigned the task to take immediate action against such buildings based on the information provided by the field staff.

The meeting also approved various uplift projects, mechanism to recover pending dues from the defaulters, and procuring machinery on rent to carry out cleanliness and maintenance operation in the area.
