Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Monday issued notices to 15 non-conforming buildings in various areas including Quiad-i-Azam Colony, Peshawar Road, Masrial Road, and Farooqabad as part of its grand anti-encroachment operation, a news source reported. The RCB officials also confiscated five truckloads of goods and carts from various markets.

Previously, the board had commenced with a grand clean-up operation against encroachments in the areas under its jurisdiction. The operation has accelerated recently and is being conducted on a daily basis, according to RCB spokesperson Qasir Mahmood.

Qasir Mahmood stated that under the clean-up drive, the RCB had removed encroachers from markets in Misrial Road, Saddar, Tench Bhatta, Chungi No 22, Bakra Mandi, among other areas. Illegal posters and banners had also been taken down. He stated that citizens should be diligent in following rules otherwise strict action would be taken them and no relaxation of rules will be allowed anymore.
