Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has announced a 50% increase in water charges for commercial and domestic consumers – a news source reported.

Cantonment Board Secretary Qaiser Mahmood said that a decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held recently.
Prior to the announcement, a commercial tanker used to cost PKR 1,000. Reportedly, RCB has increased the price by PKR 530. Hotels, service stations, and shops will now have to pay a sum of PKR 1,570 for a single commercial tanker supply.
Similarly, water supply for domestic purposes will now be bought for PKR 750. The price prior to the revision stood at PKR 500 per tanker.

Owning to this increment, owners of private tankers have also increased their prices by a hundred percent.
