Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has expedited its revenue collection process in the wake of the economic activity slowdown caused by the ongoing coronavirus situation, a news source reported on September 3. To facilitate this measure, RCB staff members have begun making phone calls to the citizens concerned to confirm the delivery of property tax notices and water bills to their homes.

According to the details revealed, the cantonment board has also announced a discount offer on residential and commercial property tax payments made until September 30. Commenting on the matter, RCB Executive Officer Umar Farooq Ali stated that the collection process had come to a halt in March following the announcement of lockdown; however, the RCB recently commenced with the revenue collection drive.

He added that in addition to bills, the cantonment board had also commenced with the recovery of dues. He explained that the RCB had formulated a comprehensive policy under which its staff members were delivering bills to commercial and residential property owners, as well as confirming the deliveries through phone calls.
