Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) recently established three sahulat centres in the city — with the initiative aimed at allowing the public to receive approvals for building layouts in a convenient manner, a news source reported on August 26. This move follows the board’s decision to announce an amnesty scheme for all the residences located within its jurisdiction.

At the time of its notification regarding the amnesty scheme, the board also warned all the owners of commercial and residential buildings to have their layouts approved in the pre-set time or face legal action. As per the information available, the new sahulat centres have been established in each of the wards of the city.

The homeowners can apply for the amnesty scheme starting from September 1. In addition, the aforementioned centres will be operational between 9 AM and 5 PM on weekdays. Moreover, only a PKR 2,500 fee will have to be paid by the homeowners for having the layout plans of their buildings prepared by a certified architect; while all other forms of fines and fees have been waived.
