Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Station Commander Brigadier Salman Nazar on Thursday (November 11) directed the management of Rawalpindi and Chaklala cantonment boards to ensure the provision of civic facilities to citizens, news sources reported.

During a joint meeting of RCB and Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB), he stated that encroachments on bazaars must be removed to guarantee a smooth flow of traffic. He also suggested that management should encourage citizens to take advantage of free parking on Haider Road and at The Mall. Furthermore, he directed authorities to build infrastructure for clean drinkable water for people and to strengthen civic services for inhabitants. Furthermore, he stated that the management should take strong measures to revive the annual flower show, emphasising the importance of the entertainment and recreational activities as well as beautification of the cantonment boards.

He also praised cantonment officials and personnel for their outstanding efforts in restoring the city’s infrastructure. He stated that there are always opportunities for improvement, which the boards should take into account while planning future initiatives.
