Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has announced an operation against the hospitals and clinics operating within its jurisdiction that have maintained additional constructions without seeking its approval, a news source reported. The board also plans to notify the management of healthcare facilities who have failed to ensure proper waste disposal.

A senior RCB official revealed that the civic body would start its inspection of hospitals and clinics situated along the Peshawar Road. He added that they had prepared a list of hospitals and clinics to for this purpose.
The official said that the RCB’s land branch would support the operation by providing copies of the approved building plans of the health facilities so the inspection team could identify violations. The operation would begin from today (August 5).
The senior official added that the decision to take action had come after the board received reports of illegal constructions in the hospitals situated on Peshawar Road and several other areas in the cantonment.
Meanwhile, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has begun a strict operation against illegal housing schemes found conducting their businesses in the city. The civic body had also asked the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), PTCL, and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to discontinue their services to these residential schemes.
