Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) and the Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) have announced an amnesty scheme for regularising all homes built in the city before 2015, a news source reported on August 23. Through this provision, the owners of these residential units will be enabled to have them regularised without the payment of any fines; along with getting their maps approved within three days.

According to an RCB officials, home owners will have to pay PKR 2,500 in fee and obtain a map of their building by an architect verified by the civic agency in order to get their homes regularised . The board will then approve it within two days.

He further stated that the provision would curb the practice of illegal constructions in the cantonment areas. Both the boards intend to increase their revenue through the collection of regularisation fee for present and future constructions.
