Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) President Brigadier Ijaz Qamar Kiani on Sunday (August 8) inspected several parts of the city’s cantonment area and directed officials to take action against encroachments on public property, news sources reported.

The RCB President issued these orders during a visit to Sadar, where he was displeased to notice several encroachments on the roads and parks in the area.
On the occasion, the president further instructed the RCB management and engineering departments to renovate and reconstruct different roadways across the cantonment to offer inhabitants improved civic facilities. He also instructed the authorities concerned to preserve the quality of the building work, and warned that any carelessness would be punished severely.

In order to facilitate the cantonment residents, the RCB administration recently announced the provision of free parking space to shoppers in the main commercial hub on Haider Road. Additionally, the authority’s administration was directed to clean the drains and roads to avoid inconveniencing the area’s residents, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
