Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment on Friday provided a notification of an added influx of 2.4 million gallons of water to its main water supply system, a news source reported. The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) officials further revealed that this extra supply volume is being procured from the Saganjani Water Filtration Plant.

They stated that the addition to the main water supply system would enable the board to overcome the water shortage in Cantt and Chaklala areas. These mainly included Tali Mohri, Misrayal, Jhanda Cheechi, Dheri Hassanbad, and Dhoke Chiragh, they added.
They added that they have succeeded in increasing Rawalpindi Cantonment’s water supply levels by 26%. They said that this was the top agenda of the Cantonment Executive Officer as per the directives issued by Cantonment Boards President Brigadier Ijaz Qamar Kayani.

The board was making all efforts for maintaining an uninterrupted water supply to areas in its jurisdiction, the RCB officials said. They added that while there was a sufficient amount of water available in the reservoirs, RCB required the cooperation of the residents to overcome water shortage.
