These details were shared by Director Soil Conservation Iftikhar Ahmad Khan. He revealed that the authorities had decided to complete the mini-dams by the end of the fiscal year. Once finished, they are expected to add to the water capacity of the Rawalpindi division and help improve water supply to the city. In addition, the local administration has plans to use the new reservoirs to develop fish farms and supply water to the surrounding populations, particularly the farming community.

The reservoirs and mini-dams are being built in order to help conserve the large amounts of water that are usually wasted in the Potohar region during the annual rains.
