Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s governing body on Friday provided its approval to the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project alignment, a news source reported. The decision was announced during the 48th meeting of the governing body – chaired by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza.

According to details revealed, the RRR route would begin from Radio Pakistan Rawat N-5 and end at Sangjani N-5. The project also includes the construction of special economic zones (SEZs) along the RRR route.
Apart from approving Rawalpindi Ring Road project alignment, the governing body also sanctioned the Amendment in Regulation 2.5 (A) VI of the Building & Zoning Regulations 2020 pertaining to apartment buildings and auction of lease rights of RDA Properties Regulation 2020.

The director general (DG) of the development authority also presented the budget for the fiscal year 2020-21. Out of the budget worth over PKR 3,500 million, RDA has allocated more than PKR 2,300 million for development works. On the other hand, the RDA chairman expressed his commitment to leaving no stone unturned for serving the public of Rawalpindi.
