Rawalpindi: City residents on Wednesday reported facing water shortage issues in the wake of soaring temperatures, a news source reported. They lodged their complaints from various localities across the metropolis.

Residents from Umar Road, Nadeem Colony, Dhoke Elahi Bukush, Sadiqabad, and Arya Mohallah urged the authorities concerned to take notice of the water supply shortage in their areas. Several complaints have been registered with the relevant department in this regard as residents had to fetch water from far-flung areas to meet their daily requirements.

Meanwhile, an official from the Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) stated that they have not recorded water shortage in any area of Rawalpindi. On the other hand, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) had recently provided an influx of 2.4 million gallons of water to cantonment’s main water supply system via the Saganjani Water Filtration Plant.
