Rawalpindi: For the first time in its history, Pakistan Railways has approved the setting up stalls for fast food on any of its stations, reported a news source. This approval will allow passengers on Rawalpindi Railway Station access to all fast food items at cheaper than open market rates.
According to details, these stalls will be set up on Platform No. 4 and 5, while Platform No. 1 and 2 will have stalls for regular food items. For the stalls reserved for the fast food items, Pakistan Railways is to open tenders on September 27.
To ensure food quality served on these stalls, Punjab Food Authority and Pakistan Railways Officials will be on check. Actions will be taken against the companies involved in using less than the standard quality food items.
