Rawalpindi: The local administration has decided to reopen public parks over the Eid holidays in order to allow the city’s residents to enjoy the days’ festivities, a news source reported. These attractions, which have been closed off to the public for nearly two months due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown, will be reopened under strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Keeping a distance of 5 to 6 feet will be mandatory, and no one will be allowed to enter the park without masks and gloves. The SOPs are to be implemented strictly by law-enforcement agencies. Anyone found violating the SOPs will be immediately expelled from the parks.

The local administration has also begun cleaning, repairing and upgrading the parks and play areas ahead of the planned reopening of the parks for the Eid. This measures is also expected to help small businesses and daily wagers in the city.
