Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has announced plans to build three parking plazas in the city to solve parking and traffic congestion problems, as per a social media post shared by the official Facebook account.

According to reports, parking plazas would be constructed near Fawara Chowk, the Commercial Market, and the Banni neighbourhood of the city. These plazas will be constructed under the public-private partnership (3P) model. It was also stated that the parking plazas would include dedicated motorcycle parking floors. The commissioner said that the designated parking area would reduce the number of irregular automobile and bike parking in the city, which has severely impacted public space.

In this respect, the Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has already identified the land for the purpose, and construction will begin soon.
