Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority has notified its receipt of Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the Rawalpindi Master Plan; which will be opened on April 29 — according to a news source. The master plan, once approved, will cover a period of 20 years.

Speaking to the media, RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza said that all the qualifying firms will be invited to the open bidding process for the Rawalpindi Master Plan.
According to the Terms of Reference (TORs) prepared for the master plan, it will be outlining the basic facilities and other amenities needed for the city — along with their locations — over the next 20 years. All the federal and provincial departments are also expected to tailor all their individual development plans in accordance with the master plan over the next two decades.

Important aspects of the city covered in the plan include water supply, sewerage, traffic, gas, telephone, health, education, road infrastructure, parking sites, public parks, playgrounds, and a number of other facilities.
