Rawalpindi: The district administration has marked the land situated adjacent to the Shabistan Cinema on Committee Chowk for setting up the Rawalpindi Food Street attraction, according to a news source. The project is expected to be completed by the district administration, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).

As per reports, a huge chunk of land is available near the Shabistan Cinema for establishing the said facility. The authorities concerned have announced their decision to operationalise the food street by this year’s Ramazan, and the attraction will also serve the visitors during the suhur and iftar time period.

Further, the officials concerned have announced their intention to keep a check on quality and price of food which will be serve at the facility – in addition to ensuring the availability of family halls, rest rooms and air-conditioned compounds.

The Rawalpindi Food Street is expected to feature food specialties from Karachi, Lahore and Gujranwala, while the Punjab Food Authority will keep a check on food quality offered by the vendors concerned.
