Rawalpindi: The Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department (ET&NCD) Rawalpindi division has decided to launch a crackdown on tax defaulters, the news sources reported on February 22.

The operation, which will begin on February 23 (today), will target 20,000 tax defaulters in the Rawalpindi division. As per the details, the ET&NCD has authorized the attachment of properties belonging to both small and large tax evaders. Officials have been instructed to freeze their bank accounts and seize household valuables, vehicles, and motorcycles, while also issuing arrest warrants.

According to sources, officials will raid the homes of defaulters and seize household appliances worth up to PKR 0.3 million, which will be sealed and kept in separate rooms inside the houses. Additionally, the names of all defaulters will be sent to financial institutions to freeze their bank accounts.
