Rawalpindi: Commissioner Captain (retired) Mohammad Mehmood on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to expedite the construction work of the Daducha Dam project, a news source reported on December 30.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with Small Dams Chief Engineer Ghulam Rasool and other officials concerned. He emphasized the need to complete the construction work on a timely basis; adding that groundwater level in the region was seen to deplete.
He directed the departments concerned to formulate a cash management plan in order complete the dam project without any delays. He said that the ongoing survey of the dam’s spillway would be completed within two weeks.

Moreover, he ordered an environmental analysis of the dumping site near Chahan Dam as well as an assessment of the risks posed by water pollution in the dam’s catchment area.
