Rawalpindi: Commissioner Captain (retired) Muhammad Mehmood has instructed the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to improve the sanitation standards of the city and ensure cleanliness in all parts Rawalpindi, according to news sources. He issued these directions during a detailed visit to the offices of the RWMC on Tuesday. He was accompanied by RWMC Managing Director Awais Manzoor Tarar.

Commissioner Mehmood stressed on the need for making improvement and said that the department should contribute efforts to meet the expectations of the citizens. He said that sanitation was directly linked to climate change and environmental degradation and called it a duty of all individuals to help upkeep cleanliness.

He emphasized on the cleanliness of Metro Bus route; saying that masses used it on a daily basis and they should be treated to a nice environment. He also inspected temporary transit sites for solid waste disposal in tehsils of Rawalpindi.
