Rawalpindi: Following the first snowfall and subsequent traffic gridlock in Murree, Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa has asked tourists heading to the resort town to adhere to travel advisories to prevent problems, according news sources. The city saw a rush of vehicles entering the hill station following the season’s first snowfall.

According to reports, 50,000 vehicles entered the city that has a total parking capacity of barely 4,000. The DC issued the travel advisory and said that a larger traffic management team and wardens have been deployed in Murree to minimise traffic congestion. The administration has issued the following recommendations:
• Buses and vehicles with weak engines should be avoided
• Do not park vehicles on the side of the road or stop in the middle of the road for selfies and pictures
