Rawalpindi: Commissioner Captain (retired) Mohammad Mehmood on Thursday stated that the city administration intends to complete several PKR 130 billion development schemes, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, within two years – a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with office-bearers of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). RCCI President Mohammad Nasir Mirza and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.
According to the details revealed, the authorities concerned plan to complete:
- Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) at a cost of PKR 50 billion
- Leh Nullah Expressway at a cost of PKR 61 billion
- Kachehri Chowk Underpass at a cost of PKR 5 billion
- Ammar Chowk Underpass at a cost of PKR 830 million
- Daducha Dam at a cost of PKR 6.49 billion
- Freelancer Hub
- Old Soan Bridge
- Six parking plazas at a cost of PKR 5 billion
- Modern Bus Terminal

The commissioner asked the local business community to provide their suggestions for making improvements to the existing infrastructure. He stated that the Punjab government intended to provide a conducive environment to the local business community. Additional facilities, he said, planned included a museum at Sujan Singh Haveli and special economic zones along the RRR route.
