Islamabad: A National Assembly (NA) panel was recently informed about the decision to open the Rawal Dam for public viewing within two weeks, a news source reported on January 8. A meeting to this effect was held under the chair of Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan.

To facilitate this measure, the Ministry of Interior will issue a security clearance. Moreover, the panel urged chief engineer Rawal Dam to open the site immediately
In response, the official concerned said that they needed the approval of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. He added that the departments concerned have submitted a summary to the Punjab Finance Department to fix the rates of water to be released to the CDA. He asked the panel to give him two weeks to get a response.

Furthermore, the panel approved a list of decisions taken by the working committee to open public visit in compliance with all standard operating procedures.
