As per the sources, the flyover was expected to be operationalised on Monday, however, the constant rains have delayed the asphalt work on the project. The authority has announced that if the rain spells become mild in the coming week, the flyover will be made open to traffic.
As per an unnamed authority official, the base work of the project is complete and the CDA officials have visited the site to inspect the construction work. It was also highlighted that the project’s filling was done using granular material along with sand fill and rocks, which means that the quality of the project will not be compromised because of the rains. The same official also hinted that extra compaction on the flyover will be executed as an added precaution and balance works including the underpass at Rawal Dam Interchange are expected to be completed by September.
