Islamabad: The capital administration has decided to expand Rawal Chowk by constructing three slip roads – a news source reported.
Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmad announced this decision during a meeting. He was recently appointed as acting chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA).

The meeting took place at the site office of Khanna Interchange. DIG Security Waqar Ahmed Chohan, SSP Traffic Farukh Rashid, SP Traffic Khalid Rashid and other agency officials were also present.
The participants discussed various options to address the traffic situation in the capital city. They noted that Rawal Chowk and Blue Area face significant traffic congestion problems.

Chief Commissioner Ahmad directed the departments concerned to submit their suggestions. He also expressed concerns over traffic congestion on Park Road.
The chief commissioner was informed that Park Road is loaded with traffic due to the development work being carried out in Chak Shahzad, Banigala, and Tramri.
