Lahore: The district administration has completed the survey of over 15,000 acres of land for Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) in addition to compiling a report to this effect, a news source reported on December 8.

Phase 1 of RRUDP is going to be developed over an area of 15,180 acres in Lahore and Sheikhupura. The two areas were surveyed as part of the initiative.
According to the report compiled by the district administration, at least 3,012 acres of land will be acquired from two of Lahore’s tehsils: Shalimar and City. Meanwhile, 12,168 acres will be acquired from Sheikhupura’s tehsils: Muridke and Ferozewala.

As per the survey, majority of the area that is to be acquired has crops, while a total of 5,356 buildings have been reported in the Lahore district area and 2,065 buildings have been reported in Sheikhupura district. The area located in Lahore district has 29,835 trees, while the area in Sheikhupura has 8,429 trees.
The report has been forwarded to the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Authority (RUDA).
