Lahore: The provincial government has decided to establish Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Agency under the aegis of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) for the execution and development of the government’s ambitious Ravi Riverfront Urban Development (RRUD) project, a news source reported.

Reportedly, the recommendations for the basic structure of the authority have been prepared – awaiting approval from LDA’s governing body. The organisation structure will include managing director, internal auditor, chief operating officer, chief financial officer and the chief support officer, among others.

The agency’s managing director will be appointed by the Government of Punjab and a special pay-scale will also be established for the agency’s officers and staff. The agency will be established under LDA Act 1975’s Section 6, Subsection 3. It will be formed along the lines of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA). The initiative is taken under the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s (PM) Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
