As per RUDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Ameen, around 40% of the total project area – which is over 100,000 acres – will be developed into green spaces, while the remaining half of the area will be reserved for the residential, commercial and other mixed-use developments. He made these remarks during a brainstorming session held with project development partners and land providers.
The meeting was informed that private housing projects falling within the RRUDP’s land marked for construction of residential or mixed-use developments will be regularised, while those projects that fall within the area marked for green spaces will not be given legal cover. The administration expressed its intention to adhere to the master plan for the development of the mega project, and will only regularise projects falling in the areas allocated for such developments.
CEO Imran Ameen also revealed that the areas allocated for the industrial project would include some 89,000 apartments for the workers. He further assured all the development partners and land providers that the project will offer them all facilities. Mr Ameen hinted that an American real estate firm might be investing in the project and urged the developer partners to team up with the said firm.
