Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan announced that the Ravi City will feature a 100-acres knowledge park for universities, according to news published on July 16.

PM Imran Khan presided over a review meeting of Ravi City and Lahore Central Business District. Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) CEO Imran Amin, Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab Dr Salman Shah, and other important officials virtually attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was announced that a 100-acre knowledge park would be established where popular institutions would establish their campuses. This will contribute to the park becoming a centre of knowledge and research, as well as generating revenue that will be utilised to preserve the forests. Furthermore, it has been reported that the forests will be maintained through bio-carbon engineering.
Aside from that, the meeting was briefed about the forests that would be planted in Rakh Munir, Rakh Shaheed, and Jhok. The urban forest will have a total area of 30,000 Kanal and will act as a wildlife refuge for endangered species.

Moreover, the PM directed that the plantation drive be completed during the monsoon season, as this is the best time for growing trees. It has also been claimed that Ravi City will construct the first Renewable Energy Industrial Estate, which will create 5,000 employment opportunities in small and large-scale industries.
