Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin stated that the authority has decided to develop the first-ever environmental industrial estate that will be based on renewable energy resources, according to a news report published on July 14.

During a media briefing, CEO Imran Amin said that Ravi City will restore water resources and will have its own industrial zone with the capacity to generate electricity utilizing renewable resources. He also stated that a new city was required to relieve the stress and burden on the provincial metropolis and to revive the city to its former grandeur. The CEO went on to say that wastewater treatment plants would be constructed on both sides of the Ravi River.

Furthermore, Mr Imran Amin stated that Ravi City will be an environmentally friendly technological advancement area. The city will also be the first in the country to adopt vertical farming. In accordance with this, the government is creating strategic alliances to bring new farming techniques to farmers and empower them.
