Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Monday presided over a meeting of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) during which he stated that the Gwadar Port City was undergoing rapid development work and would emerge as one of the most developed cities of the world, according to news sources.

The CM stated that given the ‘comprehensive development strategy adopted by the coalition government’, the city will thrive. He also said that under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan, highly effective water provision schemes and sewerage facilities were under construction.

GDA Director General Shahzeb Khan Kakar also addressed the meeting and briefed the attendees on the implementation status of the port city’s master plan and supply of clean drinking water to the area. He informed that PKR 1 billion had been allocated for the restoration of the old Gwadar city – under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20.
He also mentioned that with these funds, the development work was underway in the region and briefed the meeting on construction of ICT Centre, Water Treatment Plant and aforementioned water supply and distribution projects.
