RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finalised arrangements for the opening of a parking plaza near Fowara Chowk to ease the flow of traffic in and around Raja Bazaar. The total area of the plaza is four kanals, and it will have a capacity of at least 1,000 vehicles.
An RDA spokesman told APP that the plaza would be opened for general public on January 15. He added that Rs 1.5 billion had been spent on the project. The traders’ community welcomed the construction of the plaza and said that it would facilitate both traders and customers of adjacent bazaars.
Younas, a commuter, said that a single parking plaza would not overcome the shortage of parking space in the city and other similar projects were necessary.
