Islamabad: The Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Pakistan Railways to take efforts to retrieve encroached land and submit a comprehensive plan for an anti-encroachment drive, stated a news report. Khan said this while chairing a briefing at the Ministry of Railways and also directed the organisation to plan revenue-generation mechanisms for Railways.
The Railways Secretary Mohammad Javed Anwar gave a detailed briefing on the state of Pakistan Railways and the various measures being taken to make the organisation a more sustainable and profitable venture. Anwar also told him about the thousands of acres of Railways land which is currently under encroachment. The Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said that the PKR 20 billion project of Leh Nullah Express project from Moti Mehal to 9th Avenue will be revived and that the Frontier Organisation will start working on it soon.
