Islamabad: Minister for Railways Azam Khan Swati on Monday stated that properties belonging to the Pakistan Railways (PR) in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be outsourced in order to generate revenue, according to a news source.

Mr Azam Khan termed land belonging to the Railways as a ‘precious asset’ of the country, one that would be utilized to generate profit for the organization. To that effect, Pakistan Railways will be offering land parcels of high commercial potential at various locations in the twin cities. The company welcomes Public Private Partnership (PPP), investors, business entities, overseas Pakistani business communities and firms to take advantage of the opportunity.

According to the minister, in order to guide potential investors regarding the outsourcing of its land, the Railways Department will organize a presentation at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on March 26. Interested firms are invited to partake in the conference where more details will come to light.
