Toba Tek Singh: The local municipal committee has been allowed to restore Teku Park – a news source reported.
Pakistan Railways had leased out over 30 kanals of its land in 10 years. The park, built in 2000, was named after a Sikh saint, Tek Singh. The committee tasked with the park’s maintenance was unable to take care of it.

Recently, Railways CEO Muhammad Aftab Akbar visited the area and met with the park’s representatives. The delegation was led by two local lawmakers, Saeed Ahmed and Muhammad Ashfaq.
An industrial group has offered to provide PKR 1 million for the restoration project. It has also agreed to fund the renovation of the Toba railway station.

The railways department plans to convert one of its coaches into a restaurant. The old coach will serve as a food spot near the park. According to the CEO, length of the platforms will also be increased.
