Rawalpindi: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has announced that his ministry will build its biggest university in the city — with the initiative to be developed in cooperation with the Chinese government, a news source reported. The minister added that the proposed International Railway University will be the ‘biggest railway university in the subcontinent’.

He further said that the Railways will provide the land for the educational institution, while the its structure would be built through Chinese investments.
Minister Ahmed made these comments while addressing a ground-breaking ceremony for a four-storey hostel for the Rawalpindi Women University, which is going to be completed at a cost of PKR 70 million. He also took the opportunity to announce that the government had recently inaugurated the Government Postgraduate College for Women on the Railways Station Road as well — with this venture having been completed at a cost of PKR 100 million.

He additionally announced that two more women colleges would soon be developed in Rawalpindi.
